On October 22nd, Canada’s Minister of Health, The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor announced a funding opportunity for innovative projects that promote child and youth mental health. The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC)’s Mental Health Promotion Innovation Fund (MHP-IF) is pleased to invite eligible organizations to submit a Letter of Intent, by November 26th, 2018 at noon (EST), for Phase 1 funding of projects that promote child and youth mental health through the design, testing, delivery and evaluation of innovative interventions.
The initiative is seeking to fund projects to:
- Test and implement innovative solutions to promote child and youth mental health by addressing risk and protective factors
- Work at multiple levels (individual, family, community and broader structural and system levels) to address the social determinants of health
- Build and maintain partnerships across multiple sectors and jurisdictions
- Conduct evaluation and population health intervention research to advance health equity
