Job Opportunity: Research and Policy Analyst

STATUS: Full-time Term March 31, 2021

The position will provide policy, logistical, project management and communications support to a Modern Treaty Implementation research project involving partners across Canada.

Working with a dynamic team of land claim agreement implementation practitioners and academics across Canada, and providing coordination and policy support to a Project Director/Principal Investigator based in Yellowknife, the position will provide policy, logistical, project management and communications support Modern Treaty Implementation research project involving partners across Canada, and related policy and program support. This position is targeted at an early career stage, for candidates with strong writing skills, who are analytical, highly organized, collegial, and available to travel in the NWT and nationally. The successful candidate should enjoy networking and problem solving, and be interested in research and understanding technical aspects of land claims and self government.

Candidates should be high school graduates, with some post-secondary or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Salary range for this position available upon request.

No experience necessary. This position targets new grade 12, college, or university graduate; must speak fluent English and Tłı̨chǫ or an NWT Indigenous language. Secondments from other governments or industry are welcome; as are flexible working arrangements. Hiring preference will be given to Tłı̨chǫ Citizens, and Indigenous people. This position can be located in either Behchoko or Yellowknife.
