The Gwich’in Tribal Council (GTC) is seeking a highly-motivated individual to fill the position of Wellness Outreach Coordinator located in Inuvik, NT. The term of the contract is to March 31, 2019. 

Reporting to the Resolution Health Support Worker (RHSW) the incumbent will be mainly responsible for disseminating information on JORDAN’S PRINCIPLE: www.canada.ca/en/indigenous-services-canada/services/jordans-principle.html.

Additional duties will include developing proposals and working with the communities on wellness related programming for delivery in the communities, on the land or at the Gwich’in camp, providing support to the Wellness Department with the daily activities including planning, organizing and providing logistical support for programs or community meetings.

The ideal candidate will possess a Diploma in Social Sciences, Office Administration, or related field; 3-5 years of experience in client counselling, program or project management; a valid class 5 driver’s license; and understanding and working knowledge of the Gwich’in Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement will be considered an asset.

A competitive salary and generous benefits package which includes allowances of $20,000 per annum as well as health, dental, short and long term disability, life insurance, and generous leave entitlements.
