Kristen Tanche is Liidlii Kue First Nation, Dehcho Dene, the daughter of Catherine Simms (Tanche) and the late Gunnar Paulson. She is the Regional Health & Wellness Director for Dehcho First Nations and has held the position for several years. She is a recent graduate of the University of Regina, where she received a degree in Social Work. She is also an alumnus of Aurora College and Dechinta Center for Research and Learning, and a former fellow of the Jane Glassco Northern Fellowship, through which she explored addictions programming in Liidlli Kue. In addition to working for Dehcho First Nations, she is currently pursuing her Master’s in Social Work through the University of Victoria.
Kristen is passionate about the health & wellness of the Dehcho region and the Northwest Territories, and often says she hopes to one day see more consistent, culturally relevant programs and services.
