Hotıì ts'eeda is pleased to support Northwest Territories Recreation and Parks Association (NWTRPA) Walk to Tuk.

Walk to Tuk is an annual walking challenge that encourages northerners (from NWT and beyond) to get outside and move during the winter months. Individuals and teams can register and track their distance (or time) spent on activities such as walking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, and more. The total goal distance is 1,658 km (equal to the distance along the Mackenzie River between Fort Providence and Tuktoyaktuk).

Support from Hotıì ts'eeda has allowed NWTRPA to engage with northerners about the walking challenge name, implement recommendations from community, and support communications regarding Walk to Tuk.

Hotıì ts'eeda staff successfully completed the Walk to Tuk challenge in 2024 under the team name "HT Ptarmies". The HT Ptarmies organized a scavenger hunt in early 2024 to encourage others in community to get out and walk.
