Hotıì ts'eeda was pleased to support the Tłı̨chǫ Yatıı̀ Hoghàłets’eehtǫ: Language Rejuvenation led by Collège Nordique. This involved free Tłı̨chǫ language lessons offered on the land to NWT organizations. Participants came from the following organizations: Bushkids, Supporting Wellbeing, Tree of Peace Friendship Centre, and NWT Literacy Council.
The participants also created some resources to share with their own organizations and participants.
From a participant: "Having the opportunity to have the lessons on the Land and with staff from so many different organizations for 12 weeks was very meaningful. We not only practiced the language, but we also took time to offer tobacco and fireweed to the fire at the beginning of each session, acknowledging ourselves, our ancestors, our community and anything we needed that day. Most importantly, we began learning how to do this in Tłı̨chǫ Yatıı̀."
